Did you know that Kurow has an Ambulance Station? If so, did you know that we respond to calls from the top of the Lindis, Omarama, Otematata, Kurow, Cattle Creek, Duntroon and the Danseys Pass and we are manned by volunteers. St John is a charity and in order to function we rely on donations and fundraising. Here in Kurow we felt that we needed to approach fundraising in a way that is unique and suits our area – hence “Project Moo” was born.
What is Project Moo?
“Project Moo” is a fundraising venture for Kurow St John where we purchase calves for rearing and fattening by the famers in our community. Once the calves are R2 they are then sold, with the funds going to the Waitaki Area St John Committee who are the overseeing committee for the Kurow St John Ambulance Station.
How does it all work?
If you are able to be part of this project then it is simple. We supply the weaned calves (min of 2, max of however many you would like) and your donation is to run them with your stock like one of your own, then at sale time the funds received for the animal(s) are donated back to the Waitaki Area St John Committee to be used to help keep your ambulance station operating.
I want to get involved, what next?
Great! We really appreciate that you are able to help us in our “Project Moo” fundraising venture. We want to make this venture as simple as possible so please giveour Secretary Anna Haugh on 0272915416 so we can discuss the project further with you.
