ANZAC DAY SERVICES- Waitaki Wide

Oamaru Services

 

Dawn Service @ 6.30am

Held at the Great War Memorial, Thames Street, outside Waitaki District Council.

 

Wreaths will then be laid at the Oamaru Services Cemetary at 9am followed by wreath laying at the Turikina Memorial.

 

Parade and Garden of Memories Civic Service @ 10.30am

Starting at 10.30am at the South African War Memorial. Parading from there to the Great War Memorial on Thames Street, then on to the Garden of Memories for the main service.

Jeeps will be available to support those veterans who are unable to march but would like to participate in the parade.

 

In the event of inclement weather, no parade will be held.  A service only will be held in the Oamaru Opera House, Thames Street, Oamaru at 10.30am.

 

Country Services

Alma, Totara

7.15am A service will be held at the Alma War Memorial.

 

Pukeuri

8.30am A service will be held at the Pukeuri War Memorial.

 

Papakaio

9.00am A service will be held at the Papakaio War Memorial.

 

Enfield

9.00am A service will be held at the Enfield Presbyterian Church.

 

Maheno, Kauru Hill, Kakanui

9.00am Gather at the school gates for a service before the parade proceeds.

 

Awamoko, Georgetown

10.00am A service will be held at the Georgetown War Memorial.

 

Hampden, Herbert, Moeraki

10.30am A service will be held at the Hampden War Memorial.

 

Livingston

10.30am A service will be held at the Livingstone Memorial on Livingstone-Duntroon Road.

 

Upper Waitaki Services

6.20am Parade forms up on Hakataramea main street and will march to the Cenotaph. 

8.15am A wreath will be laid at the Kurow Cemetery Gate.

8.45am Poppies will be laid at the Otekaieke Memorial Gate.

9.15am A wreath will be laid at the Duntroon Cenotaph.

11.00am A service will be held at the Omarama Memorial.

 

East Otago Services

Palmerston

8.30am Assemble for Parade in Copinsha Street.

9.00am Service and Wreath laying at the Palmerston Memorial Gates.

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the DG Murray Hall.

Following the service there will be a wreath laying at the South African Memorial, Ronaldsay Street, Palmerston.

Dunback

11.00am A service and wreath laying will be held at the Memorial, Main Road, Dunback, followed by a wreath laying at the Memorial Stone in the Dunback Domain.

 

Wreaths will be laid at all services.  Medals and hats may be worn at all services.  Medals of deceased Service Personnel may be worn by family members on their right-hand lapel.
