  • A Premier Steampunk event of the Southern Hemisphere is based in the Steampunk capital, Oamaru. A 4 day music, feasting, racing of teapots and airships, markets and of course madness, short stories and Steampunk literary readings, work shops and dancing. The highlight is the Fashion Show and to top it all off a Gala Ball. www.steampunk.co.nz

  • Neville Peat, a well-known Dunedin writer and naturalist will present the inaugural Eileen McMillian Lecture “Moa’s Ark – trends in nature conservation in New Zealand”. This will be an illustrated lecture. The three course meal at the Lake Ohau Lodge and the after dinner lecture can be booked by phoning the Lake Ohau Lodge (03 438 9885). The cost is $60.00 per person, and of this, $30.00 is generously given to the Trust.
