Kurow Gets Replacement Scarlet Oaks

Waitaki Valley Community Society are pleased to announce the replacement of the scarlet oaks which had not survived along the Eastern approach to Kurow on State Highway 83.

Local resident Kate White organised the initial planting and early on this year approached the Society for assistance with funding for more trees. With funding from The North Otago Tree Planting Association and trees sold at cost by Hook Nurseries in Waimate, the Society was able to purchase 15 scarlet oaks which will go toward enhancing the roadside approach to Kurow. Well done to Kate for her perseverance in seeing this project completed.
