Celebrate A2O Cycle Trail From Mt Cook to Omarama
TOURISM WAITAKI is pleased to announce the Official Opening of the Aoraki/Mount Cook to Omarama sections of the awaited Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail. The trail is suitable for all ability riders. Pasquale's Shrivel Wins Champion Dessert Wine
For the second year in a row, a Pasquale wine, produced in the South Island’s Waitaki Valley, has taken out a trophy at the prestigious Bragato Wine Awards. Waitaki Bridge Replacement Definite
In a letter dated 7 September NZTA have confirmed that the work on site to replace the Waitaki Bridges on State Highway 83 at Kurow is expected to commence in January 2012. The new bridges are expected to take 18 months to be built. [more]

Football South's Festival of Football allows District Age Group Representative teams to play against each other in a warm up to the South Island Football Championships. North Otago 11th Grade Rep team will be representing the Waitaki region. Riverside Club's Alfie Mansfield, Bailey Broomhall and Jackson Smith are representatives. Well done boys. [more]
